Zdravím,
Před nedávnem jsem si nainstaloval vedle operačního systému Windows i xubuntu, jsem s ním spokojený, ale čeho jsem si všiml. Pokud jsem připojený je stejné Wi-Fi, tak Windows má plný signál, ale xubuntu o jednu čárku méně cca 90% a to je router ve stejné místnosti jako notebook. Nevíte čím by to mohlo prosím být?

Bohužel - jedna ze dvou největších slabin Ubuntu a odnoží (o ostatních Linuxech nic nevím). Je úplně běžné, že wifi karty mají na Ubuntu nižší zisk. Některé modely o více než 50% :-[

Aha, tak to mě nenapadlo, jen ze zvědavosti jak je to možné? Špatné ovladače?

Nejspíš - také nevím. Také je otázka na jaké úrovni to vzniká. Třeba už je potíž na řízení sběrnice a samotné wifi drivery jsou v tom nevinně ...

to je škoda, celkem mě to mrzí, konečně jsem xubuntu upravil k obrazu svému, ale tato vada mi celkem vadí :(. Myslíte, že stejný problém bude i u linuxmint (,když je založená na ubuntu asi ano)?

Tak 10% ubytek na tuhle vzdalenost prece neni prekazka - poznat by to bylo, kdyby jsi byl napichly na souseda od naproti s chytal ocas signalu - pak by tech 10% znamenalo rozdil mezi realizaci spojeni ci nikoliv. V tomto pripade neni co resit - jestli max rychlost bude 130 nebo 115 na nicem beznem nepoznas ...

To bude najskor tym, ako sa signal v systeme prepocitava zo standardizovanych jednotiek dBm na ciarky. Kazdy system to moze mat inak. Neexistuje na to ziadny predpis/norma. Programator sa zvycajne drzi niecoho s cim to moze porovnavat. Zda sa, ze vyvojari Linuxu to neporovnavaju s Windows. Ak sa to tyka viacerych, alebo vsetkych wifi kariet, bude to zrejme zalezitostou podsystemu bezdratoveho sietovania v Linuxe. Ak by sa jednalo o ojedinely problem s jednym kusom hardware, mohol by byt problem v ovladaci, alebo samotnom hardware karty. Vzdy je lepsie si signal zistovat programom, ktory vie z ovladaca vycitat signal v jednotkach dBm, napriklad "wavemon" a nespoliehat sa na ciarky. Samotny hardware poskytuje ovladacu signal takmer vzdy v jednotkach dBm, len na starsich b/g kartach to bolo v niektorych pripadoch inak.

Podle čárek se samozřejmě nedá řídit. Psal jsem o naměřených číslech, úbytku výkonu , rychlosti a propustnosti. zkusil jsem více než 15 modelů wifi karet a vždy byl výkon v Xubu14.04 nižší, než ve Win7. V jednom případě dokonce o více, než 50% - jak jsem psal - to byl chip od Texas Instruments, kde bylo třeba kompilovat zdroják, aby to jelo. Jinak zkoušeny běžné chipy jako Broadcom, Atheros, Ralink a Intel ...

Mas na mysli naozaj Tx vykon o 50% mensi, alebo signal na prijme o 50% nizsi?

Nevím, co přesně myslíš, ale zisk na příjmu byl přes 60% nižší a naměřená reálná rychlost spojení cca 10 X nižší. Též značné snížení odezvy apod, než ve stejném stroji pod W7.
Ta karta byla nakonec násilím odeslána do Křemíkového Nebe ;D

Mozne to je, neskumal som to podrobne. Vsimol som si, ze bezdratove sietovanie v Linuxe islo do kopru prechodom na netlink. Zda sa, ze ani po X rokoch to nieje este tak, ako to bolo pred tym. Tak isto sa spravalo aj tych 15 dalsich modelov kariet, ktore si spominal?

Ano - ale uz ne tak vyrazne - TI byl extrem. Ubytek byl vetsinou kolem 10% coz neni v normalnich podminkach prusvih, ale chytas-li chvost nejakeho signalu a zmeni se klimaticke podminky ci saturace kanalu, tak uz spojeni prestane byt realizovane ci je nepouzitelne.
Jinak treba levne TP-linky s Atherosem, jsou zname tim, ze jsou vubec nachylnejsi na tyto podminky - hodne kolisavy zisk - a znat je to i pod Win. A opet - v Ubu je to znatelnejsi ...
... Na druhou stranu jsou dobre pouzitelne pro jine veci ;)

TP-Linky pouzivam, ale je v nich ten smejdovy Ralink ako sa zvykne hovorit. Nemam s nimi ziadny problem. Mozno preto, lebo nepouzivam netlink, ale starsi WEXT a ovladac ma vsetko potrebne v sebe vcitane sifrovania. Tiez to moze byt dosledok toho, ze som robil dost uprav v ovladaci, hlavne v oblasti citlivosti a vykonovej casti vysielaca. Na vzdielenost 20m cez 3 steny dosahujem nadhernych 90 Mbps. Router TP-Link 741ND. Za 6 rokov som nezaznamenal ani jeden vypadok az na to, ze router zvykne tak zhruba 2x za rok zamrznut. Rusenie mam take stredne 8-11 sieti na pasme.

Nezabyvam se tim nejak a nejsem zadny znalec, takze nevim co je netlink a co wext (o tom jsem videl jen nejake zminky v souvislosti s androidem) a ze jde na wifi karte zesilit zisk take nevim - myslel jsem, ze v jede na max a v pripade potreby se omezuje. Popsal jsem jen prakticke zkusenosti v ramci bezneho uzivani za pomoci standardnich prostredku :)

Citlivost sa da nastavit, prave preto mozes pozorovat vyrazny rozdiel v citlivosti, ak teda naozaj myslis citlivost. Vsetko je to o balancovani medzi vysokou citlivostou a necitlivostou na rusenie. S tym suvisi caste vypadavanie ak je to super citlive a existuje rusenie. Vysoka citlivost ale neznamena, ze to bude ukazovat aj vyrazne iny signal. Energia na antene je rovnaka v pripade vysokej, ci nie az takej vysokej citlivosti.
