sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
sudo grub-install --root-directory=/mnt/ /dev/sda
 Installation finished. No error reported.
-> restart

ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ sudo update-grub
/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a device for / (is /dev mounted?).
???
Poradíte, prosím. Budu moc vděčný.
I have a bad feeling about this.

Je to čistá instalace, nebo povýšení? Proč došlo k poškození Grubu? Dáš tady výstup z boot_info_script?

report uložen v /root/ - btw nevíte jak si to mám přečíst?
Můžeš zkusit třeba gksudo nautilus /root - jinak ten výstup by mohlo být zajímavé vidět taky.

Žádné povýšení, ale čistá instalace. Nevím proč došlo k poškození Grubu, více viz:

Úplně tam chybí soubory potřebné k bootování. Zkus z LiveCD chroot, opravit to, a pak zpět
Kód: [Vybrat]
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt && sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev && sudo mount --bind /proc /mnt/proc && sudo mount --bind /sys /mnt/sys && sudo mount --bind /dev/pts /mnt/dev/pts && sudo cp /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/etc/resolv.conf && sudo chroot /mnt
update-grub
exit
sudo umount /mnt/dev/pts && sudo umount /mnt/sys && sudo umount /mnt/proc && sudo umount /mnt/dev && sudo umount /mnt
Pokud kterýkoliv řádek vyhodí chybu, přeruš to, a chybu zkopíruj sem.

Vyzkoušel jsem kontrolu bezchybnosti vypálení instalačního CD Ubuntu.
http://wiki.ubuntu.cz/Kontrola%20kvality%20CD
A výsledek: No errors found.

No a co bych s tím měl dělat?

http://forum.ubuntu.cz/index.php?topic=46380.0

Pří updatu grubu jsem dostal takovýto report v terminálu: http://img685.imageshack.us/i/updategrub.jpg/ (boot: no such file or directory).

Citace
sudo grub-install /dev/sda

pokud dojde k chybám, zkuste: sudo grub-install --recheck /dev/sda
