Zamrznutí systému - problém s nouveau

Ahoj,
jsem začátečník s ubuntu a v podstatě i s linuxem. Podobný problém jsem tu nenašel, tak vytvářím vlastní téma :-)
Minulý týden jsem nainstaloval na takové skoro nepotřebné PC Ubuntu 13.10 a vše fungovalo bez problémů. Tento týden (včera) jsem nainstaloval 14.04 LTS. Po zapnutí dnes ráno jsem zjistil, že zamrzne počítač po pár minutách kdy pustím Firefox.  Odinstaloval jsem tedy Firefox, nainstaloval Chromium, ale nic se nezlepšilo. Po zamrznutí nepomohlo nic, jen restart natvrdo - nedalo se hýbat s myší, klávesnice nereagovala atd. Tak jsem zjišťoval dál a zjistil jsem, že je fajn použít Alt+Prt Scr a REISUB. Dodávám proto log v dobu, kdy počítač zamrzne. Vygoogil jsem, že to je asi problém s ovladačem GK a zkusil jsem v nastavení systému použit nesvobodné "NVIDIA binary driver 331.38" a najednou problém zmizel. Nicméně bych se i tak rád dozvěděl čím to bylo a případně kdy a za jakých podmínek se můžu vrátit k Nouveau. Dodaný log by měl obsahovat celou chybu až do restartu. Moje GK je starší Nvidia 8800GS
