ahoj, teď jsem instaloval Kubuntu 7.10 i Ubuntu 7.10 na počítač s touto konfigurací:
Intel Celeron CPU 1096 MHz
deska "noname" s chipsetem Intel i815
512 MBRam PC133
grafika Intel 82815
diskove oddily:
swap 1GB /dev/sda1
/ 10GB /dev/sda2
/home 9GB /dev/sda3
/mnt/data 20GB /dev/sdb1
první jsem instaloval Kubuntu (uváděné minimální hw nároky jsou 256MBRam a 3GB na disku), instalace proběhla v pořádku, ale po vyladění Xserveru byla strašně pomalá odezva systému. pomalé otevírání oken i aplikací, tak jsem si řekl, že KDE bude náročné a že zkusím Gnome. tak jsem nainstaloval Ubuntu, ale situace je úplně stejná, nepatrné zlepšení tu je, ale používat se to nedá. hlavně jde o přesouvání oken, které přemazávají věci pod nima :-( můžete někdo poradit? je to už opravdu mašina do šrotu a mám tam da Xubuntu a XFce? :-) přikládám důležité výpisy:

tak jsem zjistil ze je to nahlaseny bug :-(

da se s tim neco delat? zkusil jsem do xorg.conf vlozit tuto sekci:

a chybu uz to nevyhazuje, nicmene porad je cely system neuveritelne pomaly, okna pri presouvani premazavaji to, co je pod nimi. v oo kdyz prejizdim pres menu tak se ta nabidka nestiha vykreslovat.
direct rendering je v poradku, ozubena kola se toci v pohode.
poradte prosim, jinak budu nucen tam zase hodit xp a to bych nechtel :-(

Zkuste jinou verzi: 7.04, 6.06... Třeba to bude lepší.

mno, zkusil jsem 7.04, ale tam jsem ani nenabootoval :-( momentalne asi vyzkousim nejakou jinou user-friendly distribuci, pravdepodobne Mepis, Ark Linux nebo PCLinuxOS. ale radeji bych tam mel preci jenom Ubuntu :-) ackoliv me napadlo ze bych mohl jeste vyzkouset tu LTS verzi, tusim ze 6.10. nevite jak dlouho (jestli vubec) bude jeste podporovana? dekuji

LTS verze je 6.06. Podporovaná bude do roku 2009 na desktopu a o dva roky déle na serveru.

aj u mna je prekreslovanie okien celkom pomale ale ked som instaloval z LiveCd tak tam to bolo dost rychle neviete kde je problem? teraz mi nejde 3d (ked ide je to iste, mam alfa verziu ale ked som mal na druhej particii GG tak to bolo to iste) a mam ovladace 'nvidia-glx-legacy'

no presne tak, pripada mi ze jak jsem jel z liveCD, tak byl pohyb oken mnohem plynulejsi. a delaji to vsechny distribuce, ktere jsem vyzkousel (*buntu, PCLinuxOS, openSUSE, Fedora, Simple MEPIS nenabootoval), a to jak KDE, Gnome i Xfce :-( vsude to vypada stejne ....

V linuxu se ještě nevyznám, dělám v něm týden, ale zkusil bych změnit ovladač na vesa... když to přestane, tak je jasné, kde je chyba. Mimo to pochybuji, že jste na liveCD instalovali ovladače, proto vám vykreslování oken šlo rychleji než teď.
IMHO...
Např.

mno, to me ani nenapadlo :) nicmene vyresil jsem to tak, ze jsem sehnal jinou grafiku nvidia mx440, nainstaloval jsem tam Kubuntu 7.10, nainstalil oficialni nvidia ovladace a vypnul jsem zobrazovani obsahu okna pri presouvani a uz to vypada lepe ;D je to sice takove polovicate reseni, protoze mi prislo, ze se to moc nezlepsilo na to, jakou jsem tam dal grafiku :( asi jeste poresim ty ovladace ... btw neda se ten obsah oken vypnout i v Gnome? tam jsem to nenasel a byl bych rad, kdybych tam mohl nainstalit radsi Ubuntu ;)

Ono to blbne i s tou novou grafinou? Štěstí je krásná věc...
