Máme starý počítač a nějak mi blbne obnovovací frekvence.
Grafika: S3 Trio 2X/3D 8MB
Jsem zvyklý, že monitor jede 1024x768 75 KHz. Po reinstalu a nezazálohování xorg.conf (já mamlas...) se zatím neúspěšně snažím nastavit obnovovací frekvenci na nějakou normální hodnotu.
Aktuální xorg.conf - vytvořeno pomocí dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg s volbou, aby bylo 75 KHz

Nuže, teď jsem zkoušel takový úžasný program, který mi pověděl toto:

A teď konečně přichází otázka: Není 81,80 až moc? Utáhne to monitor? Když to vyzkouším, může se stát, že to bouchne? Věčný začátečník...

Nebouchne, neboj. Všechny dnešní monitory jsou dělány tak, že pokud neumí něco zobrazit, ani se o to nepokouší a jen ukáží hlášku typu "Out of range". A pokud je to LCD, tak to je jedno úplně...
Navíc, podle mě to na těch 75Hz pojede, i když tam někde kdesi je víc...

Jak říkám starý počítač... i monitor... budeme mu důvěřovat.
Takže mám xorg zazálohovat a nějak do něj napsat, aby horizontálně bylo 60 a vertikálně 81.
Není to 81 ale něco jiného, když je to v MHz? Ach jo, já jsem fakt něco horšího než lama.

Hele, nic proti, ale já vždycky musel zadávat frekvenci jako rozsah... Bez toho mi nenaběhly ani Xka...

No, já to neumím, ale tipnu si:
co tak zkusit v řádku
VertRefresh 74-75
změnit těch 75 na třeba 82? Buď to něco udělá, nebo ne...
Jinak bych doporučil spíš buď zkusit vybrat v nastavení nějaký obdobný historický monitor, nebo najít někde doma v polici, nebo na netu, nebo na štítku toho monitoru jaký má rozsah těch frekvencí a dopsat to tam podle toho - to bych považoval za nejnadějnější.

Ale mám takové tušení že nová verze xorg v HH do toho přináší nový prvek. Google na otázku "sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg" toho poví dost.
