Zdravim po dlouhe dobe.
Resim u rodicu problem s touto tiskarnou.
Po ciste instalaci Ubuntu slapala bez problemu, nefungoval pouze scanner. Pak rodice prisli na to, ze scanner proste potrebuji (2x do roka), a tak jsem stahnul z webu Samsungu linuxovy driver pro tuto tiskarnu (zde (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/detail/supportPrdDetail.do?menu=SP01&prd_mdl_name=SCX-4725FN) a zkusil nainstalovat. Bohuzel od te doby tiskarna nefunguje.
Instalace se tvari ze probehne, ale pak se pokusi nainstalovat samotnou tiskarnu do systemu, spravne identifikuje model, ale nenajde pro nej ovladac.
To se deje jak v dialogu System->Sprava->Tisk tak pres konfiguracni rozhrani, ktere si ten ovladac pridal do nabidky aplikaci.

Samsung má na stránkách návod. Bod 4 ?
[Ubuntu OS Installation]
1. Download and extract the driver.
2. Open ''Root Terminal''
3. Execute installation program.
$ sudo cdroot/autorun
4. After intall, PPD path is set again.
$ sudo ln -s /usr/share/cups/model/samsung /usr/share/ppd/custom/samsung
5. Execute Configurator, and Add your printer model name by Add Printer

jistě, podle toho jsem postupoval.
spustim po vytvoreni symlinku konfigurator (ten samsungackej), neni tam zadna tiskarna. Dam pridat tiskarnu, a vidi local tiskarnu SCX-4725 Series on /def/mfp4. Dam dalsi, a mel bych videt seznam driverů pro tu tiskárnu. Bohuzel tam není žádný řádek s ovladačem, tím pádem je zašedlé i tlačítko Next, protože není označen žádný ovladač. A to je konečná, dál se prostě neumím dostat.

je tam něco o spuštění konfigurátoru, chybějících závislostech a repu od tweedledee

jaj tak ta verze uz neplati ani u me, ani na PC kde jsem se snazil rozjet tu tiskarnu.
Nicmene tiskarnu jsem rozjel. Vzhledem k tomu, ze se jednalo o instalaci starou +/- mesic, a mela /home na samostatne partition, zvolil jsem reinstal. Ne proto, ze bych byl pohodlny nebo lenosny, ale proto, ze mi zbyvaly 2 hodiny do odjezdu a k nasim se dostanu nejdriv tak za mesic. A to zase jen na den na dva.
Kazdopadne po reinstalu Ubuntu 10.04 tiskarna bezi jak ma (bez specialne stahovanych a instalovanych driveru) a scanner taky scanuje (coz je pokrok od minule, ale mozna to je tim, ze pred reinstalem se jednalo o upgradovane ubuntu 9.10).
Jinak ten navod jsem samozrejme vygooglil, procetl a nepomohl mi :)
Ted uz by me jen zajimalo, jak jsem dosahl toho, ze ubuntu tu tiskarnu videlo, vedelo jak se jmenuje a kde ji ma, ale neumelo si pro ni najit nebo stahnout ovladac.
