Ahojte, nasel jsem na netu ukazky funkci Berylu a tak bych ho rad nainstaloval. To jsem take udelal podle tohoto (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BerylOnEdgy/) návodu. Ale po spuštění příkazu mi konzole vypíše :

Nvidia presentPodle toho soudim ze nemam nainstalovany XGL...hledal jsem na netu a nasel jsem tento (http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/Xgl_for_gnome_with_Nvidia) návod.
Tak bych se chtěl zeptat jestli je to ONO pravé co mám nainstalovat pro funkcnost Berylu
!!!Tak jsem jeste hledal a zjistil jsem ze bude lepsi pouzit AiGLX, coz podporuje Xorg 7.1,
jen nevim jak to zprovoznit, stranky Berylu nefunguji, a zadny poradny navod pro Edgy jsem nenasel :(

Ja som instaloval podla tohoto navodu: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=263851&highlight=beryl
Podla mna je najlepsi zo vsetkych, len je EN. Je uplne podrobny, od instalacie gr. drivera cez instalaciu beryl-u az po nastavenie xorg.
Inac, ak mas nvidia kartu, nepotrebujes ani xgl ani aiglx, staci najnovsi ovladac priamo od www.nvidia.com (popis instalacie je v navode). Beryl 0.1.3 nepotrebuje ani ten najnovsi ovladac, ale este oficialne nevysiel.
Odporucam aj stranku: http://www.beryl-project.org (momentalne mimo prevadzky, odisiel im HD :-( )

Mam ten samy problem, ale pro kartu ATI mobility X1400, XGL s renderingem bezi ale pri prikazu nize mi vypadne hlaseni:

asi neco s certifikatama,ale co?
Jinak Beryl manager (diamant) mam na liste.Po spusteni emerald theme manageru mi nabehne velke mnozstvi temat, mohu na ne najet kurzorem oznacit, ale pote uz nemam tlacitko, jak je uvest v platnost. Po prave strane mam pouze refresh, delete, import.
Nebo se ty themes voli snad nekde jinde a jinak? Poradil by mi nekdo?

Mam rovnaku kartu a xgl aj beryl bezia. Si si ista, ze ti bezi XGL server? Lebo prvy riadok hovori "XGL absent". Mas nainstalovany ati-ovladac (fglrx) a patricne upraveny xorg.conf? Vypise ti prikaz fglrxinfo nieco taketo:
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies, Inc.
OpenGL renderer string:ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 Generic
Mas v subore xorg.conf na konci tieto riadky:
Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "0"
EndSection
Aky skript pouzivas na spustenie XGL?

tak se mi to nakonec podarilo rozchodit, ani nevim, v cem byla chyba.
Presto dekuji za rady,kterych si vazim.
Kde by byli uzivatele Ubuntu, kdyby nebylo toto uzasne foum, wiki apod.

Jen bych jeste sesumarizoval postup, jak jsem to rozchodil. Mozna to bude vhodne pro takove zacatecniky jako jsem ja, kteri chteji vyuzivat hezkych grafickych moznosti Berylu.
Ma konfirace: Notebook ACER5672,Intel dual core 1.66GHz, grafic card ATI X1400, HHD100GB, bluetooth, Infra.......to asi staci. Mam UBUNTU EDGY 6.1
Tak tedy muj postup instalace Berylu.
1. Nainstalujet Grafickou kartu ATI dle navodu:

- Method 1: Installing Edgy's Included Driver (8.28.8) - pouze tuto metodu a nic vic, me fungovalo vsechno bez nejmensich problemu. Staci zrestartovat a grafika u me byla v pohode.
2. Otevrete si stranku:

a pokracujte v instalaci XGL, Berylu. Me to taktez fungovalo bez nejmmensich problemu az do konce. Tento navod je sice take v angliictine, ale s obrazkami, co a jak. Pochopi ho i zacatecnik..Pak staci restart a pokud je vs ok, pri prihlasovacim nez zadate login zvolte sezeni (session) a XGL, potvrdit-login-heslo-jen pro tuto session (sezeni) radeji dokud nemate zkontrolovanou funkcnost. a pred naskocenim ubuntu pozadi by se mel objevit splash beryl 1.3 myslim...
Toto je navod pro muj zmineny pocitac a funguje.

Ahoj vseci.
Jeste jedna par otazek, ktere by mne zajimaly:
1. Pri prihlasovani do XGL session (po zadani loginu, hesla) se mi prepne pozadi login manazeru na chvilicku na rastrovanou obrazovku (bile pozadi a hodne cernych tecek) avsak po chvilce naskoci uvodni obrazovka Berylu a vse je ok. Dela to taky nekomu z vas?
2. Jak je to tedy s tim renderingem v XGL? Nekde jsem cetl, ze v XGL fungovat ani nema....
Me v XGL nefunguje, ale jinak vsechno (openGL apod.) slape (zatim jsem nestacil vse vyzkouset:-)).
3. Ale to nevim, zdali patri do teto rubriky,ale zeptam se. Pri startu Ubuntu Edgy Eft nabiha system je videt loogo ((hezci nez v Dapperu) ale pak se mim u nej na chvilku objevi po stranach dva modre horiizontalni pruhy (je to v zaverecne fazi spousteni systemu, tesne pred naskocenim do login manazeru). Dela Vam to take?
