xorg.conf je prazdny [vyřešeno]

Dobry den, nainstaloval jsem nove xubuntu 8.10 a chci si nastavit rozliseni monitoru, bohuzel v souboru xorg.conf nic neni:

Mam grafickou kartu nvidia GF Go 7300. Mozna to souvisi s tim, ze mi nejdou stahnout ovladace pro tu kartu. Kdyz ve spravci ovladacu harwaru kliknu na aktivovani nejnovejsich ovladacu, tak se obevi okenko se stahovanim, ale nic se nedeje. Porad na nule. Mozna by pomohlo rucni stahnuti pres prikazovku, ale to bohuzel nevim jak se dela.

Kdyby mi mohl nekdo poradit, byl bych mu vdecny.

Toto okno stahovania trochu blbne. Nechaj to par minut a ovladac sa nainstaluje. Ak bude aj potom zle rozlisenie tak ho nastav cez

Ok, pockal jsem, nic se nedelo ,ale po restartu se ovladac stahl a parametry se xorgu nakonec zapsaly, takze ted uz je to OK. Me predtim praveze nesel spustit ani ten nvidia-settings praveze. Ted uz to slape. Diky!

Ak to funguje tak super.
S tym oknom mam taku skusenost ze nezobrazuje priebeh stahovania a az ked subor dotaha cely tak len preblikne 100% a zacne instalovat.

Asistoval jsem minulý týden u instalace tří počítačů s nvidia, u všech se projevilo že po kliknutí na nesvobodný ovladač teploměr problikl a nic se nedělo.
Stačilo nejdříve nainstalovat nabídnuté aktualizace (nebo apt-get update && apt-get upgrade), poté se již instalace nesvobodných ovladačů chovala dle očekávání správně.
