Byl jsem stastnym uzivatelem Kubuntu. Mam ted ale novej pocitac a nejsem schopen ho rozbehnout. Live CD najede, ale jen po uplne prvni modrou obrazovku-prostredi KDE se nedockam a kompletne to zamrzne-musim reset. Stahl jsem tedy alternate CD (pisu to snad spravne) a nainstaloval. Vse v pohode, ale jakmile nabehne prihlasovaci obrazovka, tak to spolehlive asi za 2-3 vteriny taky zatuhne. Co kde a jak udelat?
Sempron 3100+
Asus s nforce3 (ted presne nevim typ)
512mb rad 400mhz
grafika je stara geforce 2 MX 32mb (tady asi bude problem)

Zdá se že je to v pořádku. Podle čeho jste instaloval ovladač na grafárnu?

zadny jsem neinstaloval.. je to uplne cista instalace... Ani LiveCD se mi hned na zacatku nabihaji KDE kousne...

Podivej se jestli neni nejaky error v /var/log/Xorg.0.log nebo v dmesg.

Tohle nebude ten problem (to je informace o neexistujicim zarizeni -> nejaky tablet).
Zkus jeste /var/log/kdm.log. Xserver zrejme nabehne bez problemu.

Zkus nahodit základní ovladač vesa jestli to na něm bude taky zlobit.... nezapomeň si udělat zálohu xorg.conf

Tak jsem zkusil vesa-bez vysledku. Nainstaloval jsem i nvidia ovladac, porad to stejny. Vyhrabal jsem i dapper drake- kousne se zhruba ve stejnym miste. Ja uz nevim, co delat. mam tu prozatim windows, ale ja chci svoje kubuntu :(

No aby to pak nakonec nebyl problém softwaru, ale hardwaru. Ale tak zase jestli běžej windows v pořádku, tak by to bylo divné.

Windows bezi bez problemu uz 2 dny. Vsechny soucastky jsou skoro nove. jen tak grafika je vytazena ze supliku :-)  ale ta jeste pred mesicem behala v jinym pocitace bez problemu. Ve win uz jsem musel i prevadet video a jelo to 4 hodiny na 100% vytizeni a bez problemu. Zkousle jsem i bios hodit na default a nepomohlo to.
Asi zkusim sehnat jinou grafiku (jestli nejakou sezenu).
Dalsi napady uvitam
Jinak na test uz stahuju Suse, ale je to dvd a bude to tak za dva dny :(

To že jela v jiným pc na jiný desce, tak u tebe může zlobit. Ale pokud jedou winy v poho tak netuším proč zrovna kubuntu zlobí. Zkoušel jsi jen ubuntu?

Ještě tu někdo psal, že by to mohlo bejt tím DRI, tak to zkus odsud vyhodit:

uz jsem oddelaval dri, glx, proste vse, co jsem v ruznych diskuzich nasel, ze by mohlo delat problemy, ale k nicemu to nevedlo.. uz stahuju ubuntu a uvidime... zitra mozna budu mit pujcenou jinou kartu.. sice taky geforce2, ale uplne jiny vyrobce.
Dekuji za vasi snahu...

Takze jsem vyzkousel ubuntu-stejny problem. Proste se to kousne a hotovo. Zkusil jsem PClinuxOS-zalozeny na mandrive a ten se normalne rozjel jak live, tak i nainstalovanej.. Je celkem libivej, ale stejne bych radsi kubuntu-jsem na nej proste zvyklej. Snad sezenu tu kartu na vyzkouseni. Jinak uz nevim.

Jsem zase dal. Sehnal jsem jinou kartu- nvidia tnt2. Dela to uplne to stejny, takze kartou to asi neni. Neco tomu vadi na desce. je to Gigabyte K8NS, mate nejaky napad, co v biosu vypnout? Zkousel jsem zvukovku, ale nepomohlo. Prehodil jsem i ramku do jinyho slotu a zkosel to i s odpojenym hdd.

Takze jsem na to prisel.
Bylo to zvukovou kartou. Staci zavest modul snd-intel8x0 a uz to beha jak ma.

Abych to doplnil. Potom jsem chtel cely kubuntu nainstalovat na cisto (jako jediny system-jinak rozdeleny hdd atd) a udelalo to tu stejnou chybu. Vypnuti zvukovky nepomohlo-nevim, jaktoze to predtim zabralo. Takze jsem badal dal. A asi jsem na to uz urcite prisel. Mozna je to samozrejmost, ale ja to nevedel.
Mam totiz jeden hdd na SATA a dvd na PATA. A prave tu dvd jsem mej jako master na primary-- a tak to proste nejede... Jen co jsem ze zoufalstvi zkusil prepnout na slave, tak uz to beha jak ma. I live bezi. Nikdy jsem SATA nemel-opravdu jsem udelal takovou chybu?
Ted uz je to opravdu vyreseny
