dell d505 a rozlišení LCD

ahoj,

mám dotaz, v notebooku dell latitude D505 s grafikou INTEL 82852/855GM mám displej s rozlišením 1400x1050, ale UBUNTU stále nedokážu přesvědčit abych rozlišení dosáhl... stále jen 1280x1024

V systém-volby-rozlišení obrazovky je v nabídce jen 1280x1024, 1024x768, 800x600 a 640x480...

V xorg.conf je ale zase jen 1400x1050

Sem začátečník a nevím si rady :-) takže prosím o návod (nejlépe krok po kroku)

P.S. zkoušel jsem přidat do sekce Monitor v xorg.conf řádku

ale to pak grafický režim nenaběhnul vůbec...
