Instalace thunderbird z balíčku + výpis terminálu.

Po nainstalování Thunderbird v Ubuntu 8.04 je program zcela nefunkční, jde jen zvětšit a zmenšit hlavní okno a na nic jiného nereaguje, při pokliku na křížek k vypnutí se objeví tabulka, že program nereaguje. přeinstalovával jsem jej aj přes terminál a správce balíčků a pořád to stejné.
Ted jsem si stáhl instalaci z oficiálních stránek thunderbird-2.0.0.14.tar.gz a nevím jak jej nainstalovat.

Pokud jste si stáhl binární balík (zřejmě ano), stačí někam rozbalit (pravým tlačítkem -> rozbalit) a pak tam bude mj. soubor zřejmě thunderbird, kterým to půjde spustit.
Spíš bych se ale pokusil rozběhat ten distribuční. Co to vypíše, když ho spustíte v terminálu?

zdar, ja ma s tym tiez problem.. mam ubuntu 10.04 a chcem do nej naistalovat thunderbird 2. z oficialne stranky som si stiahol subor (thunderbird-2.0.0.24.tar.gz) rozbalil som ho, ale ked spustim THUNDERBIRD tak nic sa mi nezapne, kde robim chybu.. akonahle stiahnem thunderbird 3 cez centrum softveru tak ide.. lenze ja chcem verziu 2.. :-)

Zdravím. Balíček Thunderbirdu 2 od Mozilly vyžaduje starší knihovny libstdc++5, které již ale v Ubuntu 10.04 nejsou. Nicméně je můžete zkusit nainstalovat, viz http://wiki.ubuntu.cz/libstdc%2B%2B5.
