Dovolte, abych se podělil o zkušenosti s Koalou a důvody mého opětovného přechodu k Debianu. Předem chci upozornit, že toto téma nemá mít provokativní charakter a spíše by mě zajímaly seriózní názory Vás ostatních na tuto problematiku.


Vývoj verze 9.10 sleduji od již od Alphy 5, kdy jsem ji nahodil na můj počítač. Samozřejmě jsem narazil na několik problémů, ale to je u vývojovky samozřejmé a pochopitelné. Za samozřejmé jsem i pokládal to, že při vydání finální verze tyto problémy budou ty-tam. Opak ale byl pravdou, ty tři nejzávažnější problémy, které mi trápily od začátku, byly stále přítomné, a to i po nové a čisťounké instalaci. Mám namysli následující - nemožnost změny rozlišení konzole, divný chybový výpis o tom, že nelze připojit jednotku s UUID=... a že se na ní čeká (a pak, světe div se, vše fungovalo normálně) a neskutečně hlemýždí a otravné vykreslování obrazu při normální práci (třeba ztmavování při zadávání root hesla, přepínání ploch, minimalizování oken, rolování ve Firefoxu,...). Všechny tyto problémy by dle mého názoru finální verze systému prostě mít nemusela.

Naprosto nechápu, proč vývojáři umístili vývojovou verzi Grubu do stabilního vydání, když má takové problémy. Zas takové zlepšení oproti fungující verzi 1.96 jsem nezaznamenal.

Chyba při mountování jednotek je nepochopitelná (Dělá vám to také?). Při vydávání aktualizace mountall 1.0 bylo avizováno, že přesně tato chyba je vyřešena. A ajhle, je stále přítomná. Nechápu.

Pomalost Xek/GTK/XFCE/něčeho jiného? Nechápu, že to v jiných distribucích funguje a v Ubuntu se tato chyba prolíná v již několika verzích a nikdo není schopen ji vyřešit.

Inu, řekl jsem si, takový přístup k vývoji a bugům nebudu již dále trpět a vrátil jsem se k mému starému známému Debianu (Squeeze). Neříkám, že je bezchybný, ale zde oproti Ubuntu věřím, že budou tyto chyby napraveny. Pokud by to nevadilo, připojil bych jejich stručný popis pro případ, že by to nebyly bugym ale moje blbost, a někdo by byl ochoten je se mnou (když dodám žádané prerekvizity a výpisy - nevím jaké) vyřešit.

1) Dost často (asi 1:1) systém nenabootuje. Píše to spoustu na první pohled nepříbuzných chyb (nelze nastavit systémový čas, pak nelze připojit partišnu, protože na ní jsou chyby - buď zmáčknete CTRL+D pro pokračování - nenaběhne - nebo root heslo pro ruční zkontrolování - žádné chyby nenalezeny - další boot v pořádku - a další zase ne). U přítelkyně to dělá také (i když méně často; odlišná konfigurace, 32-bit). Na první pohled to vypadá jako bug, ale je dost otravný a přítelkyně to tam už má měsíc a opravná aktualizace nikde, tak je mi to divné.

2) Občas mi nenajedou Xka (startuji stylem startxfce4). Chybové hlášení v terminálu žádné. Po restartu to většinou funguje.

Na můj vkus až moc často. Ale myslím, že jsem se z věčné nefunkčnosti Ubuntu už nadobro vyléčil. Vždycky přišlo zklamání z jednoho důvodu - nedostatečná vyladěnost celého systému.

Tu "nedodělanost" UBUNTU 9.10 - jak někteří hlásají - vidím v tom, že canonical se snažil nasadit co možná  nejnovější software a funkce do systému, které se během půl roku snad vypilují a poté se nasadí do LTSka nebo vyhodí úplně, pokud boudou pořád zabugované. Je to přirozený vývoj, nebýt půlročních vydání, ale přímo LTS verzi - UBUNTU by asi nemělo takovou popularitu jako teď, neboť by se jednalo v podstatě o DEBIAN. Toť můj názor :D. Jinak naprosto souhlasím s tou lenosti systému, také mě to dost otravuje...

Souhlasím. Řadová vydání nejsou pro uživatele lpějící na vyladěnosti asi vhodná.
