USB ADSL modem Zyxel Prestige 660RU-T3/T7

Dobrý den. Tento modem ma 1xEthernet a 1xUSB + napajeni a linku. Mame doma 2 pc (vzajemne v jinych mistnostech), takze podle potreby stridame ethernetove kabely k pripojeni toho ci onoho pc k internetu. Nedavno ale zcistajasna uplne nahodou jsem si vsiml ze se feisty k internetu pripojili pres USB(!), rikal jsem si supr :) Feisty uz maji i podporu tohodle usb modemu, ale je problem ze ted at delam co delam ne a ne se to zase znovu pripojit pres USB :'-(, nemate nekdo s timhle nejake zkusenosti? Ne ze by se internet nedal i nadale jenom proste mezi pocitaci prepojovat , ale mit vedomi ze uz to jde pripojit jenom pres usb a nevedet jak je szirajici.

Nj ale tam to moc po prakticke strance nerozebiraj... nasel jsem neco na zyxel 630 ale 660 nic moc :-( ale myslim ze jsem nekde cetl ze by 660 mel jit i s driverama na 630 (?)

Spis proste jde o to, ze i kdyz jsem nic k podpore usb modemu neistaloval, samo se to nejakou pricinou spustilo a fungovalo - to minimalne znamena ze ted uz neni treba nic dalsiho instalovat. Kdyz jsem si klikl nahore vpravo na liste na ikonku site, jakym zpusobem jsem pripojen, normalne to pise Dratove spojeni (), tak tam bylo 'USB modem connection...'. Myslim ze by stacilo nejak linux prinutit alespon o *pokus*  navazani spojeni na net pres USB port. Nevite jaky prikaz ci udalost by toto mohla vyvolat??

Nesmysl to resit pres USB. Proc si proste nekoupite za 250Kc switch a nepripojite obe dve pc k siti s timto routerem. Internet pojede automaticky vsude a PC budou take propojene. USB modemy jsou katastrofa i pod Windows.

Ackoli nejaky switch stejne asi nakonec budu muset nekde zplasit, ale prave to USB spojeni by to mohlo vyrazne oddalit

To nevypadá že by tam byl nějaký driver v jádře pro ten USB modem ... tzn že moc nerozumím jak vám mohl někdy ten modem přes USB jet.
 Zkusil bych se podívat na projekt AccessRunner (conexant) ... něco málo o tom je napsáno na wiki a najít vhodný ovladač. Ale co jsem tak koukal na netu tak ten modem přes USB nejspíš nepojede. Ale zkuste to zprovoznit podobně jako Zyxel 630 (viz wiki) a třeba to půjde.

Tak nejak nemuzu najit ten spravny driver/ovladac - v navodu tady na wiki jako soubor CnxEtU.sys. Kdyz jsem spustil z cd install tohodle modemu pod winxp, vyextrahovalo to (a ulozilo do windows/zy_tmp) par souboru (prevazne *.sys) ale zadny se mi nepodarilo prohnat tim programkem cxacru-fw

Ted jsem zkusil driver na 630-C3 (P-630-C3_CWB.1.1.C0/W2k98Inf/Wan/CnxEtU.sys) a ten teda prosel vpohode pres ten programek cxacru-fw, vychozi .bin jesm nakopiroval do /lib/firmware a i do /lib/firmware/2.6.20-16-generic/, ale opet to vubec na modem nereaguje. Driver si asi nerozumi s drobet jinym modemem, protoze pokud modem zapnu tak chvili pres usb komunikuje - parkrat blikne usb ledka (normlane jenom zpocatku chvilku sviti) a potom zhasne a nic

mno tak jen tak pro pořádek ... co se děje lépe popíšete když se podíváte na výpis jádra (dmesg). Ale jak popis nasvědčuje .... párkrát blikne a nic ... bohužel to asi nepoběží. Ale třeba někde naleznete řešení.

    Ale věřte že modem přes USB s vhodným ovladačem není žádná výhra (sám jeden takhle provozuji). Občas si umane a prostě neběží. Pokud je na Win tak vám nezbyde než párkrát restartovat PC a on se chytne. Na Lin je to lepší tam se dá dokopat k restartu snáze (nemusíte restartovat celé PC) ... ale stále sním o ethernotovém  provedení !!
