Nefungují ovladače "nv" i "nvidia"

Zdravím ve spolek, koupil jsem s notebook HP Pavilion dv6590 s gafickou kartou nVidia 8400M GS... grafika v Ubuntu najede ale jenom, když v xorg.conf mám nastavený ovladač "vesa"... zkoušel jsem ovladač "nv" a nenajelo to... nainstaloval jsem nvidia-glx-new, změnil jsem v xorg.conf "nv" na "nvidia" a taky to nenajelo...

pls. pomozte...

Neměnil bych to přímo v xorg.conf, ale raději bych spustil v termináu:
sudo nvidia-xconfig

To jsem taky zkoušel... ale tady jde asi hlavně o to, že system nerozpozná grafiku přesně

Ještě opravuji - používá se spíš:
sudo nvidia-settings

Ale jestli ovladače z Ubuntu nerozpoznají ani tak správně kartu, tak pak je lépe stáhnout ovladače přímo z Nvidie a podle jejich návodu je instalovat. Jde o dost novou kartu pro notebooky, tak je dost možné, že ji ovladače nevidí.
