Zprovoznění rozlišení většího než 800x600 na integrované grafice SIS

Dobrý den, mám starý notebook fujitsu siemens s integrovanou grafikou sis. Bohužel mi běží jen na rozlišení 800x600 (pravděpodobně ovladač VESA) a rozlišení nelze měnit na větší. Nejsem v ubuntu žádný borec a když jsem zkoušel ručně s návodem editovat xorg.conf, vždy jsem skončil s neúspěchem. Mohl by mi prosím někdo poradit, jak to mám nastavit, abych to měl použitelné? Je možné to vyřešit změnou ovladače, případně jaký tam nainstalovat? Na této grafice pravděpodobně asi nerozběhám 3D akceleraci, že?

Ubuntu mám 8.10 a display umí rozhodně víc, než 800x600. Kdysi jsem na notebooku měl win xp a rozlišení běželo mohlo běžet až na 1280x800, 32 bit. barvy, 60 Hz

mrkni se na thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=615094 , resi to tam tenhle chipset na x stranach... jsou tam i nejake uryvky z xorg.conf

Rozlišení mi teď funguje docela slušně na 1024x768 a 1280x768. Ale bohužel to pořád šlape na ovladači vesa, takže 3D akcelerace v podstatě žádná, Extreme Tux Racer běží na 2 fps.

Zkoušel jsem podle tohoto fóra http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=615094 nainstalovat 3D ovladač, ale nepovedlo se mi to. Stáhnul jsem si ten 3D driver (myslím, že je pro ubuntu 7.04), rozbalil a přesunul jsem oba soubory do /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/ a do xorg.conf jsem místo driver "vesa" napsal driver "sis".

Restartnul jsem X a spustilo se mi v low-graphics módu a napsalo to něco v tom smyslu, že to nemůže načíst modul SIS.

Můžete mi prosím poradit, abych mohl rozběhnout 3D akceleraci?

Ještě jsem zkusil nainstalovat sis ovladače pro linux, ale pravděpodobně nejsou na moji grafickou kartu.
