Xubuntu - zmena rozlisenia

Zdravím, nainstaloval som rodicom na stary komp Xubuntu a mám malý problém. Pri spustení systému sa mi vždy nastaví 1600x1200 60HZ, ale ja by som tam potreboval 1024x768 85HZ. V systéme sa to dá prepnúť, ale po reštarte sa to naspäť prehodí.

Na wiki ubuntu a tu na fore som sa docital, že asi treba editovať xorg.conf. Tak som to skúšal podľa tohoto článku:

Ale môj obsah xorg.conf je z nejakého dôvodu neúplný, chýba mi tam hlavne tá časť s "DefaultDepth". Skúšal som to tam dopísať ručne, ale asi som to nespravil dobre, pretože som po reštarte musel obnoviť zálohu xorg.conf.

Mohol by mi prosím niekto helfnúť, ako to upraviť, prípadne čo iné spraviť?
