Připojení k internetu

dobrý den prosím o pomoc....
nainstaloval jsem si Ubuntu 9.10

pro mé přípojení k netu je třeba snížit rychlost lan adaptéru na 10Mb/s a změna mac adresy
pak se ip adresa načte automaticky ze serveru alespon ve Windows to tak funguje.
změna mac adresy a snížení rychlosti adaptéru se mi nejspíše povedlo,
ale i přez to mi internet nejde. proč?

Nevidíme IP adresy a DNS ....

a to je právě ono po snížení rychlosti síťové karty (mám OvisLink LFE-8139ATX Fast Ethernet Adapter)
na 10Mb/s - (to kvůli horšímu kabelu)
a nastavení přidělené MAC adresy - (jsem pod ní zaregistrován u poskytovatele internetu)

má dojít k přidělení ip adresy i DNS automaticky.
jako ve Win XP po zaškrtnutí volby

Získat adresu IP ze serveru DHCP automaticky
získat adresu serveru DNS automaticky

jinak ve win XP mi to takle funguje bez problému...
je mi moc líto že se mi nedaří internet pod Ubuntu 9.10 rozchodit 

prosím poraďte, v lynuxu se moc nevyznám ale chtěl bych si jej vyzkoušet....

Napadlo mě toto. Ve windows opsat hodnoty a tady je zapsat napevno bez využití DHCP. A ještě zkontrolovat MAC adresu, je-li v okénku.
Pozoroval jsem , že při pokusech občas zmizí. Pak to samozřejmě nejde.
