Výrobce bohužel oficálně podporuje pořád asi jenom Ubuntu 9.04, ale co dělat. Předpokládejme, že máš stažený soubor cnijfilter-mp270series-3.20-1-i386-deb.tar.gz do domovského adresáře. Dále můžeš zkusit použít třeba tento postup pro Ubuntu (je to přes terminál):
1. Install the printer driver by entering the following command from the command line of a terminal software. Expanding the archived file and switching to the expanded directory
tar zxvf cnijfilter-mp270series-3.20-1-i386-deb.tar.gz
cd cnijfilter-mp270series-3.20-1-i386-deb
Installing the printer driver
sudo ./install.sh
When the installation is completed, a message instructing you to register the printer is displayed
Next, register the printer to the computer.
Connect the printer, and then turn on the power.
To use the printer on the network, connect the printer to the network.
When the printer is ready, press the Enter key.

Check that the machine is properly connected and that the power is on. Then press the Enter key.
2. From the list of detected printers, select the printer to be registered.
Select the printer.
If the printer you want to use is not listed, select Update [0] to search again.
To cancel the process, enter [Q].

Enter the number of the printer to be registered, and then press Enter. To update the list of detected printers, enter "0" and press the Enter key. To end the installation without registering the printer, enter "Q" and press the Enter key.
Note: If the printer registration procedure was terminated before completion or if you canceled processing by entering "Q," use lpadmin to register the printer. The default selection value is displayed in [ ].
3. Enter the registered printer name. You can specify the desired name as the registered printer name.
Enter the printer name.[MP270]_
Enter the registered printer name, and press the Enter key. If the entered printer registration name is already registered, a message confirming whether you want to overwrite the existing information is displayed.
The entered printer name already exists. Do you want to overwrite it? (yes/no) [yes]_
Note: If a printer registration name is overwritten, the previously registered printer can no longer be used.
4. Set the default printer to be used when the printer name is omitted in the print command.
Do you want to set this printer as the default printer? (yes/no) [yes]_
5. When the installation is completed, the name registered for the installed printer is displayed. During printing, be sure to specify the printer name displayed here. Example when MP270 is registered as the printer name:
Installation has been completed.
Printer Name : MP270
Select this printer name for printing.

If the printer registration procedure fails before completion or if the installation process is interrupted and the printer is not registered, you must use lpadmin to register the printer.
Note: To delete a printer that was registered with lpadmin, you must use lpadmin to delete it.
In Ubuntu use the sudo command to install the printer driver.
Note: When asked for a password in Ubuntu, enter the password of the user who is currently logged in.
1. Enter the following from the command line of a terminal software:
$ sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart
Note: Do not register the printer with lpadmin before you restart the CUPS daemon.
2. Register the printer to the spooler by using lpadmin from the command line of a terminal software. You can specify the desired name as the [printer_name].
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -p [printer_name] -m [PPD_filename] -v cnijusb:/[USB_port] -E
If you specify "MP270" as the [printer_name]:
$ sudo /usr/sbin/lpadmin -p MP270 -m canonmp270.ppd -v cnijusb:/dev/usb/lp0 -E
3. Set the default printer to be used when the [printer_name] is omitted in the print command from the command line of a terminal software.
Specify this setting only as necessary.
/usr/sbin/lpadmin -d [printer_name]
If the [printer_name] is "MP270":
$ sudo /usr/sbin/lpadmin -d MP270
