Vypnutie XServeru + problém s inštaláciou drivera

Ahoj.
Inštalujem práve najnovší nVidia ovládač stiahnutý priamo zo stránky, nakoľko ma už dlhšie XServer serie - po každom reštarte sa správa inak. Naposledy nastavil obrazovku na Widescreen a myš sa ledva hýbe, takže som už vážne stratil nervy.
Keď však spustím .run súbor na inštaláciu ovládača, vypíše mi:

Neviete ako ten X server vypnem? V Systém>Správa>NVIDIA X Server Settings sa nedá nič nastaviť, akoby XServer ani neexistoval.

přihlasíš se

Teraz mám tak trochu iný problém.. Odinštalovával som kubuntu-desktop (páčilo sa mi KDE 4.6) a pri tej príležitosti som si odfajčil obidva gnome panely (hore aj dole) - nepoznáš prosím ťa nejaký spôsob ako ich (alebo jeden) tam vrátiť?

EDIT: Alt+F2 nefunguje

To som si práve prezeral, problém je, že nemám ako spustiť terminál (Ctrl+Alt+T ani Alt+F2 proste nejdú)

Tak to udělej z konzole, jako tu instalaci ovladače - Ctrl+Alt+F1. Zkus panel nastartovat:

Zpět do X se vrátíš pomocí Alt+F7

Nefungovalo... keď už som bol v konzoli, rovno som som použil apt-get install ubuntu-desktop, problém vyriešený, idem na ten XServer, ďakujem

Tak znova fail.
Tentokrát sa inštalátor dostal ďalej, ale nakoniec to vzdal.

Posledná otázka ak môžem - teraz treba znova povoliť ten ovládač v Systém>Správa>Dodatočné ovládače, či 3D akcelerácia sa sprevádzkuje po reštarte sama?
