Zůstat u Linuxu nebo přejít na windous?

Poslední dobou (4 roky) mě ubuntu žačíná bez pardonu *censored*.

Ubuntu 12.04 bylo všechno v pohodě všechno fungovalo
Ubuntu 14.04 Ok, no problem i like that
Ubuntu 16.04 ani dobý ani špatný, takový průměr, prostě s přimouřeným okem použitelný systém
Ubuntu 18.04 jedním slovem PRŮSER
Ubuntu 20.04 MEGA PRŮSER

Na ubuntu 20.04 se mi pře dvěma dny rozpadlo ( po kliknutí na klávesu super se systém kompletně *censored*), tak jsem si řekl OK, zkopíruju důležité věci a udělám čistou instalaci a tentokrát bez extensions......

První věc po instalaci -> sudo apt-get install vlc -> a co myslíte? VLC prostě nefunguje, takže asi po 2 hodinách jsem ho konečně rozchodil manuálním proklikáním přes ten ubuntu software, tam jsou 2 verze VLC, ale jen jedna je ?funkční?  ????????? prosím ????

Už druhý den se seru s tearing, na display se mi už dokonce začaly oběvovat zelené čtverečky a čárky (SW chyba nikoly HW)

Ubuntu už vývojáři kompletně pohřbili a vsadím vše co mám, že přístí LTS bude ještě horší než tato.

A tak se ptám, je nějaká linuxová distribuce, která FUNGUJE?

Za mě, Kubuntu:

14.04 LTS: perfektní (na 5 strojích)
18.04 LTS: trochu horší, ale v podstatě pouze dementními "plochými" monochromatickými ikonami (jejich tvůrci a zastánci by se měli jít léčit); zatím vyzkoušeno na dvou strojích, samozřejmě až po vytlučení těch ikon
20.04 LTS: běží normálně zatím pouze na jednom stroji, na více nezkoušeno, ale přijde to. Problém s ikonami jako u 18.04.

Widlous 10 bych si v životě dobrovolně na stroj nedal. Poslední relativně normální verze byla 7.

Linuxových distribucí je moře, stále je z čeho vybírat. Prvotní příčina problémů bývá v HW a jeho nekompatibilitě.

Chtělo by napsat na jakém HW máš uvedené problémy. Za sebe o Ubuntu nemůžu nic napsat, protože GS mi absolutně vůbec nesedí. Navíc tuším že od Ubuntu 18.10 po instalaci nesvobodného ovladače nefunguje autologin možná dodnes (nezkoušel jsem)

MB mám Asus prime z270-p a nikdy žádný hw problém se nekonal. Zkoušeno Kubuntu miniamal instalace Kde neon a občas Xubuntu od verze 18.04 do 20.04. Jedině při použití monitoru 144hz fhd Xubuntu Nvidia ovladač má snahu trochu nepravidelně blikat. Při nastavení 60hz je to ok. Nyní Kde neon postavený na 20.04 je plně funkční.

Věřím že na některých typech NB mohou být problémy i když novější jádro je pořád dokonalejší. Chtěl jsem novější plasmu 5.19 případně 5.20 tak jsem přešel z Kubuntu na Neon. V Kubuntu 20.04 asi nikdy plazma 5.19/20 nebude kvůli QT verzi. V LTS si nemohou dovolit shodit programy závislé na určité verzi QT např. Telegram.

PS Nevím koho napadlo do Kde neonu nacpat Calamares instalátor. Dosud jsem nepochopil co dobrého přináší??

Na HP elitebook 2740p vše běží až na probuzení po uspaní. Tak jsem si hodil windows na druhý noťas a stejně funguji na HP. Ono i pak člověk najde chyby na windows a třeba budeš rád zpět na linuxu.

Co zkusit Manjaro? Taky mám s *buntu problémy, ale spíš proto, že na spoustu věcí nejsou klikátka a že už někdy od verze 14.04 instalátor ignoruje umístění /efi a dává ho na první disk, takže musím při instalaci všechny ostatní disky fyzicky odpojit což je fakt otravné. Manjaro tyhle "drobné" chybky nemá a co se mě týče, je to asi nejjednodušší distribuce. Ještě mi celkem vyhovuje OpenSUSE, až na jejich firewall, v tom se prostě nevyznám. A používám pouze KDE, vyhovuje mi nejvíc a přijde mi, že umí nejvíc a v Manjaro je ta výhoda, že to je rolling release, takže stále nový a aktuální software a kupodivu stabilnější než LTS *buntu :)
